We are seeking a Senior Accountant role, who will perform various accruals and reconciliations, provide statistical and analytical reporting, manage non-standard contract summaries, process affiliate payments, provide support for SOX compliance and validate tax information for 1099 reporting. This position is part of the Expedia Affiliate Network (EAN) team and the ideal candidate will need to have a strong foundation of accounting and data analysis. Working with various accounting, business and information systems groups will be integral for success. As such, we require an individual who is confidential, a detail-oriented problem solver with the ability to multi-task, good communication skills, creative with a passion for best practices and self-starting. We are looking for a team-player who enjoys working closely with other departments in an ever-changing environment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Manage non-standard affiliate contract summaries in various internal systems
Enter/review affiliate payments, incentive/bonus payment calculations and advances
Research and respond to affiliate payment questions
Tracking and communication surrounding EFT and tax forms
Manage 1099 filing/reporting
Provide support for SOX compliance
Creation and maintenance of statistical and analytical reports to support department needs
Participate in month-end processes, prepare journal entries and analyze general ledger activity
Prepare quarterly and annual audit schedules and interact with both internal and external auditors
Special projects - including creating/improving processes, preparing analyses, and integagretion into Oracle ERP system
Ability to work well with other departments
Meet departmental expectations/deadlines

Preferred
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field
Minimum 5 years accounting experience
Minimum 2 years A/P and A/R experience
Detail-oriented, organized, efficient, and ability to multi-task
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and mathematical skills
Personable, positive, and enthusiastic attitude with capability to deal effectively with people both internal and external
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Extensive knowledge of basic programs including Outlook, Excel and Word
Self-starter, ability to work in a fast paced ever-changing environment

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
