The Element by Westin is a BRAND NEW hotel opening in Springfield MO in the Fall of 2023! The Assistant General Manager is responsible for all aspects of operations of the hotel and provides support to the General Manager.
The position is responsible for supervising all business functions and manages hotel operations with directions from the General Manager.
This position works closely with the local team and corporate office to maintain smooth operations of the hotel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in all aspects of representing the hotel and ownership.
Assist GM in day-to-day operations.
Provide and assign training for all employees.
Monitor training and ensure that training is completed by due dates.
Monitor guest surveys and social media sites.
Respond to guest comments on Trip Advisor, Facebook, etc.
Assist GM with interviewing and selecting new employees.
Review employee performance and conduct personnel actions such as disciplinary actions and terminations with GM.
Consult with the Regional Director before terminating any employee.
Maintain accurate records of Direct Billing.
Conduct weekly audits of the front desk cash drawer and petty cash/cash in safe.
Post Accounts Receivable checks accurately.
Assist GM during morning meetings or conducts the morning meetings in the absence of the GM.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures and ensure full compliance.
Assist GM in key property issues including capital projects and customer service.
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly property inspections.
Inspect at least 3-4 rooms per housekeeper per day.
Ensure property, grounds, and work areas are well maintained.
Cover shifts in all departments as needed.
Assist Housekeeping Supervisor in monthly linen inventory.
Ensure that all linens are kept within PAR levels.
Assist in ordering of all hotel supplies.
Review and respond to/approve Purchase Orders as submitted by Department Heads before any orders are placed (done when the order will be over $200 and not including normal supplies such as breakfast).
Provide effective leadership to all team members.
Ensure team members are in approved uniforms and following company policies regarding personal grooming.
Be available 24/7 for any guest or employee emergencies.
Make weekly employee schedules with keeping labor within budget guidelines.
Attend biweekly Revenue Management conference calls.
Attend weekly Purposeful Walks with GM.
Lead Purposeful Walks in GM's absence.
Report any guest or employee injuries immediately to GM and Regional Director.
Attend local community events, i.

Chamber, Lodging Association, CVB, etc.
Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
Comply with company policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
